The 21km course takes in some of the best sites at this all-time popular holiday spot: the surf beach, the Pauanui Airfield, the Pauanui Waterways and the off-road forest and estuary-side track of the Pauanui-Tairua trail.

The event also offers 10km and 4.5km courses, with the option to walk all distances, starting and finishing on the beachfront by the Pauanui Surf Lifesaving Club.

21km – Half Marathon

The 21km distance course offers a relatively flat scenic route toward the estuary, through the Pauanui Waterways and out along the beautiful Pauanui-Tairua Trail. There’s lots of variation to this run over grass, footpath and the estuary-side trail. You won’t be disappointed with the changing landscape and beautiful scenery.

The 10km distance is a relatively flat scenic route along the beachfront grass reserve, down the side of the Pauanui Airfield, through the Pauanui Waterways and to the start of the Pauanui-Tairua Trail. Runners will reach a turning point at the end of Tangitaroria Lane and make their way back to the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club.

The 4.5km run is the perfect starter distance event.  The course starts at the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club.  Runners will head out the starting chute and turn left to head north along to Royal Billy point, you will then head all the way back along the beach front reserve, past the start/finish line toward Mount Pauanui at the south end where you will turn once more and continue back along the grass beachfront  to race headquarters on the beachfront outside the surf club.
