The 21.1km course takes in some of the best sites Pāuanui has to offer. Throughout your journey you will be treated to views of the Pacific Ocean, Mount Pāuanui, Tairua River and the majestic Coromandel Ranges.

The event also offers 10km and 4.5km courses, with the option to walk all distances. Each event starts and finishes at the Pāuanui Surf Lifesaving Club, overlooking the white sands of the surf beach and beyond across the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean.


21.1km – Half Marathon

The 21.1km distance course offers a relatively flat, scenic route toward the estuary. Beginning on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, you will wind your way through the Pāuanui Village, Waterways and along the Tairua River Trail. You will run over a variety of surfaces including sand, grass, concrete footpaths and gravel trails. You will not be disappointed with the ever changing landscape and spectacular scenery.

10km

The 10km distance follows the same route as the 21.1km course. Beginning at the Surf Club you will run along the beachfront grass reserve, through Pāuanui Village, into the Waterways and along the boardwalk to the start of the Tairua River Trail. Runners will turn onto Tangitaroria Lane and make their way back to the finish outside the Pāuanui Surf Life Saving Club.

4.5km

The 4.5km run is the perfect starter distance event and is run entirely on grass. The course starts at the Pāuanui Surf Life Saving Club. Runners will head out of the starting chute and turn left to head north to Royal Billy Point. You will then turn and travel south, past the Start/Finish line toward Mount Pāuanui. Upon reaching the ‘South End’ you will turn once more and head back along the beachfront to race headquarters outside the Surf Club.
